‘Overview of Thesis Process from Inception to Completion-3.0’, the third edition of an online research methodology FDP workshop, targeted for first year MDS students of all dental specialties, jointly organized by SRM Dental College, Ramapuram Campus, Chennai and Manav Rachna Dental College and Hospital, Faridabad was held from 11.11.2024 to 15.11.2024 in Zoom platform. 10 CDE credit points were allotted by Tamil Nadu Dental Council (approval number 419/24) for this workshop. The program began with an invocation by the Almighty followed by welcome address by the convenor of this workshop, Dr. S. Mahalaxmi, professor and head, department of conservative dentistry and endodontics, SRM Dental College, Ramapuram Campus, Chennai. The deans of both the host colleges Dr. Ravi. K and Dr. Puneet Batra welcomed the delegates and wished the program success. The inauguration ceremony came to an end with the delivery of vote of thanks by the co-convenor of the event, Dr. Dax Abraham.

The workshop consisted of two lectures held each day from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm. Speakers from colleges across the entire country including IIT Research Park, IIT Madras, Chennai delivered their lectures. Speakers included Dr. M Kavitha, Dr. Ajay Logani, Dr. Ruchika Roongta Nawal, Dr. Subha Anirudhan, Dr. Krithika Datta, Dr. Nandini Suresh, Dr. Vivek Aggarwal, Dr. Jayashree, Dr. Poorni and Dr. Alpa Gupta. The event covered all aspects involved in conception of a research topic for dissertation to its publication. Professor and heads in the specialty from various colleges across the country moderated the sessions, shared their inputs and exchanged their views with the speakers and the participants. The speakers and the chairpersons were felicitated with e-certificates at the end of each lecture.

A total of 350 participants including first year MDS students and faculty from nearly 50 colleges registered and participated in this event. The event ended with concluding remarks from the convenor and co-convenor of the workshop. Online feedback forms were circulated to the participants at the end of every lecture. An online quiz was also conducted at the end of the event with the participants. Participants who completed the feedback and passed the quiz were given e-certificates.
