TMD AND ITS IMPORTANCE – A QUICK REVIEW

The Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology, SRM Dental College, Ramapuram, conducted an international live webinar on “TMD AND ITS IMPORTANCE – A QUICK REVIEW”. The invited international speaker of the day was Dr.Ashokbabu Raamya BDS, MS. After migration, he practised as a general dentist in Ontario for over 15 years before pursuing his interest in temporomandibular disorder (TMD) and orofacial pain. At the Eastman Institute for Oral Health at the University of Rochester, New York, he completed the two-year post-graduate TMD/orofacial pain residency program. Dr Raamya has also earned a master’s degree in health professions education at the University of Rochester, New York. He is also a member of the Ontario Dental Association and the Indian Dental Association

The webinar was a full course of 2 hours of the programme which started with the basics of Temporomandibular joint. There was an active interactive session with the speaker where the practical aspects of treatment from a general and specialist viewpoint were discussed. A total of 100 participants were present throughout the webinar, inclusive of undergraduates, postgraduates and specialists from various disciplines.
