The National Orthodontic Week Celebration was hosted by the Madras Orthodontic Study Group in association with the Indian Orthodontic Society, from October 20th to 24th.
A variety of online competitions engaged undergraduate and postgraduate students, including:
- E-Poster competitions for UG and PG categories
- Orthodontic awareness reels
- Undergraduate essay writing on orthodontic awareness
- Orthodontic artwork
- Undergraduate Quiz
Several colleges across Tamil Nadu participated actively, with SRM Dental College, Ramapuram standing out by winning five awards.
Winner Highlights:
- Arvind Prabhu, CRRI student, secured 2nd place in the UG essay writing competition on orthodontic awareness, under the guidance of Dr. S. Dilip.
- Dr. Mohanapriya Saravanakumar, First-Year Postgraduate,Department of Orthodontics, secured 3rd place in the PG E-poster category with her presentation titled “Beyond Brackets – Lasers”, guided by Dr. Sangeetha M.G.
- Dr. Karthick V. and Dr. Jhanani R., First-Year Postgraduates, Department of Orthodontics, won 3rd place for their PG E-poster titled “A Questionnaire on the Awareness and Preference of Wilckodontics among General Dental Practitioners, Orthodontists, and Oral Surgeons,” under the guidance of Dr. Shreya Kishore.
- Poonguzhali Kannan, 3rd year BDS student, was awarded 2nd place in the UG E-poster category for her presentation “TADs – An Absolute Anchorage Provider”, guided by Dr. Rasiga G.
- Poonguzhali Kannan, 3rd year BDS student, also secured the 1st place in the orthodontic awareness reels category
