Dr.Devapriya Appukuttan, Professor , Department of Periodontics, SRMDC, RMP was invited to share her Research paper titled ” Expression of High Mobility Group Box 1 (HMGB1) and Receptor for Advanced Glycation End Products (RAGE) in the gingival tissues of Periodontitis patients with and without type 2 Diabetes Mellitus” among Diabetologists at the 4th National Research Retreat conducted by the Research Society for Study of Diabetes in India (RSSDI) on 1st and 2nd March 2025 at Madurai. The discussion focused on the impact of diabetes on periodontal health, emphasising the need for greater collaboration between physicians and dentists.
