The Department was established in the year – 1997 by Dr. V. Rajasekaran M.D., ( Pathology). The Department is presently headed by Dr. K. Viswaja, M.D., ( Pathology).

The faculty members forming the department are well qualified and experienced. They specialize in teaching pathological aspects of diseases and do quality laboratory diagnostic work for the needy patients. The faculty members contribute to academic development by attending the CME programmes , state and national conferences there by enriching the students with recent advances in dental medicine.

• The department floor area is about 12361 sq. ft to accommodate UG & PG students.
• The department Laboratory is well equipped with all the diagnostic tools and modalities so as to provide the best possible human care services for the needy patients by giving quality laboratory diagnostic reports.
• The department has a well established museum comprising of about 100 mounted specimens
• The department has a well established library to enrich the subject knowledge and for all diagnostic references for the teaching faculty.
• The department is equipped with computer facilities with LCD monitor, colour printer and UPS accessories.
