Dental screening camp was conducted by the Department of Public Health Dentistry, SRM Dental College, Ramapuram as a joint effort with Mr. Chockalingam Sir President of Avichi Higher Secondary School Alumni Association, Arcot road, Virugambakkam, Chennai on 9/11/2022, Wednesday. A total of 243 school children were benefited. The dental camp was organised by the Department of Public Health Dentistry. Oral Health Examination was done to the school children of Class IX and X. Using tooth models, oral health education was provided about the proper brushing technique and the significance of developing healthy lifestyle habits was also communicated. The ultimate goal was to raise awareness about oral health, importance of early diagnosis, appropriate preventive measures, and timely treatment for various dental diseases among school-aged children. Schoolchildren in need of oral health care also provided a positive response. Overall, the organisation provided positive feedback and appreciated the service provided to their students. Following this screening camp, treatment camps for these children with various dental needs are planned for the coming week.
