Department started in the year 2010 with the first batch of postgraduates (2 per year) passed out in the year 2014.The department is equipped with 24 fully loaded dental chairs in a scrolling 4000sq.ft area. The key note areas of the department are UG & PG Academics, Comprehensive Oral Care ,Incremental dental care, Tobacco cessation assistance and counseling , Outreach activities like camps, Health Awareness programmes, Field visits, Projects, Survey and celebrating days of global importance.

We have to our current credit more than 369 publications in various indexed and non indexed journals. The department has adopted various schools, colleges, old age homes and orphanages, and provides all basic dental treatments and procedures at a subsidized cost. The department has two peripheral centres at primary health centres, which function as nodal wings, catering to the dental needs of the local people.

Our Postgraduate students (PG’s) and Interns were trained in real-world settings like primary health centres (PHCs) and departmental postgraduate and undergraduate clinics.
This dual exposure ensures that they gain practical experience, making them well-prepared for their future careers. Additionally, it enables our students to effectively meet the dental needs of the local population, providing them with access to high-quality dental care.

The department boasts a state-of-the-art bus equipped with inbuilt mobile dental units and audiovisual aids, designed to provide treatment and education to the underserved public.
