A webinar titled “Dental Practice Post COVID 19 Era” was conducted on 17.6.2020 by the Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, SRM Dental College, Ramapuram. Three extravagant, comprehensive and informative lectures on the COVID 19 protocols to be followed in the routine clinical practice which was the need of the hour were addressed by the eminent endodontists Dr.Krithika Datta, Dr. Shail Jaggi and Dr. Narasimhan Bharadwaj. The importance of a safe and effective dental practice in general and endodontic practice specifically with COVID-19 creating havoc around the globe were discussed on this open online forum. We had received a total of 680 registrations with an active participation of nearly 275 delegates for the program.
RESOURCE PERSON
Prof. Dr Krithika Datta, MDS (Head (Academic))
Is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Conservative Dentistry from 2008 to 2015. Honoured with the “Best Outgoing Dental Graduate” from Saveetha Dental College in the year 2003, she has won 5 gold medals during her under-graduation. In 2012, she was the recipient of the prestigious “Best Young Dentist Award” instituted by the Tamilnadu Dr MGR Medical University. In 2016, she won the “Young Achiever Award” instituted by the Conservative Dentist and Endodontist Association of Tamilnadu (CEAT). She has 29 publications in indexed peer-reviewed journals. She is a reviewer for the Journal of Endodontics, Journal of Prosthodontic Research, BMC Microbiology, Frontiers in Dentistry, Restorative Dentistry & Endodontics and three other national journals. She serves as an Editorial board member in Clinical Oral Investigations. She has over 90 invited guest lectures to her credit. She is passionate about research and her area of interest in Cariology. She is a member of the European Organization for Caries Research (ORCA) since 2010. She primarily works on integrating ICDAS/ICCMS systems in research and teaching curriculum.
Dr. Shail Jaggi
‘Dentalwiz’ is headed by Dr. Shail Jaggi,- an excellent clinician and winner of the outstanding dentist of the year 2015 has a specialization in advanced Cosmetic Dentistry, Restorative Dentistry, and Endodontics (Root Canal Specialization). Dr. Jaggi is a trained micro Endodontist and specializes in the advanced Root Canal and Cosmetic Dentistry. She believes in the concept of minimally invasive dentistry -treating of teeth with a minimal amount of damage and uses the dental microscope to achieve this objective
Prof. Dr. Narasimhan Bharadwaj– a prolific clinician & academician, he is the Founder – Director of Access Dental Institute – Root Canal Center (Estd 2001), a specialty Dental Hospital cum Root Canal Training center, Kilpauk, Chennai. Presently designated as Professor Dept. of Conservative Dentistry at Saveetha Dental College, Chennai, he graduated his BDS from the prestigious Govt. Dental College, Chennai and completed his Masters in Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics from Meenakshi Ammal Dental College, Chennai. He was a Gold Medalist and was conferred the Best Outgoing Post- graduate student award (2004), by the Federation of Operative Dentistry of India (FODI) & Indian Endodontic Society (IES). Academically, he is an eminent speaker with over 150 Invited Guest Lecture Deliberations and authored about 15 Scientific Papers in various State and National Conferences. He has won 6 Original Best Paper Awards at the National Level at various forums and has authored about 14 Indexed Publications to his credit. Further, he is the Managing Trustee of Community Dental Clinic – Charitable Trust that is run primarily for the underprivileged with simultaneous clinical training to dentists.
