SRM is well known to inspire and encourage young minds by providing them a platform that curates their clinical, academic and research skills. In line with this tradition, a 2-day ‘Webinar Series by SRM Alumni 2.0’ was conducted by the Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics on 13.02.2023 and 14.02.2023. Five of our student alumni and one faculty alumni shared their knowledge and experience on a range of clinically crucial topics. This webinar was attended by around 200 postgraduates and faculty members from all over the country. It was acclaimed as a well curated and beneficial programme that honed the clinical knowledge and practical skills of the participants.

This programmed has left an indelible mark on the minds of participants who attended about our dedicated teaching and high quality of students passing out of our institution.

I am sure that whenever a student approaches any faculty for suggestions regarding a good college for PG admission, the name of our college will be foremost in their minds.

RESOURCE PERSON:

1. R. Senthil Kumar

Dr. R. Senthil Kumar completed his BDS and MDS in the department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics from SRM Dental College, Ramapuram, Chennai. He is an active scientific researcher and has guided Postgraduate Students, both in their Clinical & Research works. His research work has been published in various National & International PUBMED indexed journals. He is associate editor in Acta Scientific Dental Sciences Journal and a reviewer in many international journals. He is specialized in using Dental operating Microscopes and performing Regenerative Endodontic procedures. Currently working as Junior Research fellow in SRM Dental College, Ramapuram

2. Dr Shobana Shekar

Dr Shobana Shekar, currently working as Reader in the department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, Tagore Dental College, Rathinamangalam, completed her BDS in Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University (SRM Dental College, Ramapuram) and MDS in the specialty of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics from The Tamil Nadu Government Dental College in 2016. She has done her Masters in Health Sciences in Public Health from Annamalai University and PG Diploma in Biostatistics from Madurai Kamaraj University. She has national and international publications to her credit. She was the college topper in her under graduation and is the recipient of the Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University gold medal for securing the highest mark in the MDS examinations. She has many awards to her credit which include the young talent award, the best speaker award and young achiever award.

3. Dr Kavya Baskar

Dr Kavya Baskar is a graduate of Ragas Dental College and Hospital Chennai. She completed the postgraduate program in Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics at SRM Dental College, Ramapuram, Chennai. Currently she is working as an Assistant Professor at Indira Gandhi Institute of Dental Sciences, Puducherry. Her passion towards research is intense She has various publications, a patent and ICMR funded projects to her credit. Her passion for research in Regenerative endodontics has bagged her best paper award in national conference

4. R. Seshan Rakkesh

Dr. R. Seshan Rakkesh is a proficient clinician and an able academician. He completed his under-graduation from CSI College of Dental Science and Research and his post-graduation from SRM Dental College, Ramapuram. He is currently working as a senior lecturer in Sri Ramachandra Faculty of Dental Sciences. He has presented papers in various national and international conferences. His active research is in the field of herbals in dentistry. He is a peer reviewer in national and international journals.

5. Gayathri Parthiban

Dr. Gayathri Parthiban completed her under graduation in KLE Society’s Institute of Dental Sciences, Bangalore and postgraduation in 2019 from Ragas Dental College & Hospital, Chennai. She worked as the Clinic Head and Consultant Endodontist at Clove Dental and was the Senior Lecturer in SRM Dental College, Ramapuram from 2019-2021. She is currently into private practice. To her credits she has presented papers and posters in various national and international conferences.

6. C. Charanya

Dr. C. Charanya is an eminent clinician and a passionate academician She is currently working as Senior Lecturer in Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics in Tagore Dental College and Hospital. She has completed her Under graduation from Sathyabama University and postgraduation from SRM Dental College, Ramapuram. She has attended various national and international conferences and has presented papers and posters in various forms. She has won the best paper award multiple times in her career and has also delivered guest lecture at various national forums She is inclined towards research and has a good number of publications to her credit in both national and international indexed journals. She is also a peer reviewer for a few PubMed journals.
