Event Description:

 The Indian Society of Prosthodontics-Restorative-Periodontics had its genesis in 2007. The main aim of this society is to impart better interaction, learning and understanding to improve the interdisciplinary approach of learning dentistry holistically. The departments of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, Prosthodontics and Periodontics joined hands to organize the first ever ISPRP Undergraduate Convention at SRM Dental College, Ramapuram. The theme of this convention was “Integrate to Inspire and Innovate”. The convention was conducted on 15^th and 16^th December 2023. An amazing response was received as 460 delegates from across the country came to attend the event enthusiastically. There was a total of 6 lectures and 1 hands-on that dealt with important aspects of the cornerstones of dentistry. Along with the mind boggling lecture sessions, a scientific forum where more than 120 poster and paper presentations on topics relevant to current trends in research and clinical interdisciplinary dentistry was created. Debate and quiz competition among students representing different colleges was also conducted. It was a knowledge enriching experience.

Dr. D. Arunachalam-DCI no. 1167

Dr. D. Arunachalam is a General Dentist and Specialist Periodontist with 28 years of service behind the smiles of his patients. A gifted clinician, he has earned the respect of his patients and colleagues as a much sought after invited speaker at several prestigious institutions and conferences both nationally and internationally. A keen academician too, Dr. Arunachalam has held the organizational positions as Professor and Head of the Department at major dental colleges and academies and served as Principal and Dean too. With presentations, patents and publications on Oral Medicine, Orthodontics, Periodontology and Implant Dentistry and Oral Rehabilitation, he has been instrumental in mentoring an army of dentists in India and abroad. In 2011 Dr Arunachalam added another facet to his broad experience and skills with the degree of Master of Business Administration (MBA), from the College of Engineering, Anna University, Chennai. His favorite areas of clinical interest are Dental Implants, Orthodontics and Cosmetic Dentistry.

Dr. M. Shivashankar-DCI no. 2284 (Karnataka)

Dr. M. Shivashankar completed his under graduation and post-graduation in Oral & Maxillofacial prosthodontics at M.R.Ambedkar Dental college, Bangalore as well as completed Certificate course in Cerec CAD CAM. He was the first dentist from India to be certified as International Cerec CAD CAM specialist by International society of computerized dentistry. Currently he is the director of Confident Dental Laboratory, Bangalore. He has received various awards including outstanding young dentist of the year 2011. He is an Advisory board member of Quintessence International journal, Indian Edition. He has done various publications and presentations at national and international platforms.

Dr. Mithunjith-DCI no. 0179 (Pondicherry)

Dr. Mithunjith completed his under graduation and post-graduation in Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics from Government Dental College, Pondicherry. He has specialized in Aesthetic Dentistry   by   undergoing   training   from   Esthetic   legends   like   Dr.   Christian   Coachman, Dr. Galip Gurel, Dr. Marcelo Calamita, etc. He runs an exclusive state of the art aesthetic practice in Pondicherry French town which has catered to people from more than 25 countries for their esthetic and dental needs. The clinic has been equipped with complete digital workflows to provide smiles beyond boundaries. He has won the prestigious IACDE Clinical Excellence Award in 2018 and the Aesthetic practice of the year 2021 in Famdent awards. For two consecutive years, he has won outstanding dentist of the year below 45 years in Famdent awards. Currently he is the key opinion leader for Ivoclar and conducts lectures and workshops on direct composites, digital smile design and on all ceramics pan India.

Dr. V. Anand Kumar

Dr. V. Anand Kumar completed his undergraduation at Annamalai dental college, Chidambaram and postgraduation in oral and maxillofacial prosthodontics at Saveetha dental college in Chennai. He completed his fellowship from international congress of oral Implantologist. Currently working as professor at Sri Ramachandra institute of higher education and research with 24 years of academic experience. He has done 71 publications, 5 patency and numerous guest lectures at national and various international platforms. His administrative credentials include post of president (Indian prosthodontic society, Tamilnadu & Puducherry branch) since 2019 as well as editor in chief, the journal of Indian Prosthodontic Society since 2021.

Dr. Yohan Chacko-DCI no. 3341

Dr. Yohan Chacko is the Head of the Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics at Asan Memorial Dental College and Hospital Chengelpet. Dr. Yohan Chacko completed his BDS in 1996 and MDS in 2001. He has been actively part of promoting dentistry through CDE courses since 2001.

Dr. U. Arunmozhi-DCI no. 4846

Dr. U. Arunmozhi, MDS in Periodontics and Implantology under TN Dr. MGR Medical University and Meenakshi Ammal Dental College, Chennai. Currently working as Professor and Head in Dept of Periodontics and Implantology at Sri Venkateswara Dental College and Hospital, Chennai. Life member of ISP and IALD (Indian Academy of Laser Dentistry) and ISOI (Indian Soceity of Oral Implantology). State representative member of IDA Madras Branch. Has delivered numerous guest lectures in various national forums and has both international and national publications to his credit.
