CBCS COURSE – “MANAGEMENT OF YOUNG PERMANENT TEETH WITH HANDS ON COURSE ON MTA APEXIFICATION”

The Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry conducted a CBCS course between 8th and 10th of March 2021. The topic of the course was ‘Management of young permanent teeth with hands on course on MTA apexification’. A total of 22 Interns from our Institution attended the course. The lectures were delivered by all the faculty of the Department. On 8th March, the first lecture was given by Dr. S. Nancy on ‘Indirect Pulp Capping’, this was followed by Dr. Suganya. B, Dr. Trophimus. J and Dr. P. Shankar on ‘Direct Pulp Capping, Apexogenesis and Apexification’ respectively. On 9th March, the programme started with two lectures given by Dr. D. Senthil and Dr. Hemalatha. R on the topics ‘Revascularization’ and ‘Materials used for pulp procedures’ respectively. This was followed by a Demo on MTA apexification on a mounted natural tooth by Dr. Shankar. P and Dr. Trophimus. J. The last day was a Hands-on course on MTA apexification in a mounted natural tooth for all the participants which was coordinated by all the faculty. All the participants were actively engaged and enthusiastic throughout the course, and the course was largely appreciated by all the participants.
