Annual Sports Meet 2016

The Annual Sports Meet of MokshaV6.0 was inaugurated on the 9th march 2016 by Dr.C.Ravichandran, Deputy Director of campus, SRM University, Ramapuram. The inauguration was followed by immensely tense sessions of carom and chess. Events like volleyball, throwball, basketball, table tennis, kho-kho and girls cricket were held inside the campus while events like swimming, snooker, badminton were held at outdoor venues. Football and cricket followed suit and were held at Loyola college and Sri Ramachandra Medical College on 16th march 2016 and 28th-30th march 2016 respectively. The various events saw enthusiastic participation from the undergraduate students, interns, postgraduates and staff a like.

The Annual Sports Meet was conducted on the 31st March 2016 at the Jawaharlal Nehru stadium, Chennai. The sports meet was presided over by Dr.T.S.Sridhar, IAS., Campus director, SRM University, Rampauram campus, Dr.K.Ravi, Dean, SRM Dental college, Ramapuram, Dr.Muthusamy, Head, Department of Anatomy, Dr.K.Rajkumar, Cultural Secretary, Dr.EdeintonArumugam, Sports Secretary. The guest of honour was Mr.Mohan, National level gold medal athlete. The torch was lit by Dr.Edeinton, Suraj John Tharakan(intern), Arjun (IV BDS), Abhinayashree (III BDS), KajolShetty (II BDS), and Poorani (I BDS); and the sports meet was declared open. The day witnessed various field and track events and culminated with Poorani and Ruthran from the Mustangs (I BDS) being declared as the best sportswoman and sportsman respectively and the Xanthrons (III BDS) as the winners of the sports trophy for MokshaV6.0.

Recreation rooms are present in the hostel buildings for indoor games. Sports grounds for Basket ball, volley ball are present inside the campus.

The college believes in the ideology of Healthy Body – Healthy mind and encourages the students to take part in all the inter college sports events. We have a good basketball court and badminton court within the college premises and also have the provision to hire larger sports grounds to conduct intra/ inter college sports activities.

Sports day is conducted every day in the month of April to encourage the students to take up extra-curricular activities and foster team spirit. Cultural activities are conducted in the month of April at the end of sports events to bring out the hidden talents of the students and as means of stress buster.
