Ethics is of paramount importance in dental research as dentistry is a Hippocratic profession which is committed to continuous ongoing research. Pursuing research is a privilege , not a right and this research must adhere to the highest ethical standards whose main objective is to place the highest respect and adequate concern for the safety and welfare of their research participants. Ethical values should be inculcated as a part of hidden curriculum right from undergraduate days to instill a sense of commitment towards rendering responsible research. This talk address the ethical specifics in dental research across all research communities while outlining the guidelines and principles required for conducting ethical biomedical human research.
