The department focuses on the diagnosis and management of complex diagnostic and medical disorders affecting the mouth and jaw. The department consists of an outpatient clinic, PG clinic with sterilization room, a PG room, library, Seminar room, HOD room and staff room. The advanced training program trains the clinicians to manage oral mucosal diseases, salivary gland disorders and facial pain syndrome and promote dental care for patients with complicated medical diseases.
The department conducts modern radiographic investigatory procedures like digital radiography and also exfoliative cytology, FNAC (fine needle aspiration cytology) and biopsy. The department has a tobacco cessation clinic as a community service program.
